I found an old Asus K601 laptop computer in my closet. I got in sometime in 2010 to my knowledge in a Best Buy in Richmond. I no longer have all the documents to show when I bought it and all that details. I am no longer in Richmond but in Raliegh. I get the error during bios AHCI Port0 Device Error press F2 to Resume. Since I got this error I never got past this error. What does that mean?

Often that can mean that the hard drive has failed.

Kind of a dumb response by me but did you happen to upgrade to Windows 10? One of the builds that were released by Microsoft had an AHCI issue that rendered some computers not bootable. Easily solvable by doing an upgrade install with the latest Windows 10 ISO.

If you don't have Windows 10, boot from an ISO corresponding to the OS that you have. If it does not get past the disk check and says there is no HDD detected, setup cannot continue, you'll know you have a bad hard drive. If it is listed in though, find a third party utility to boot to the patition and backup your files immediately.
