Hi everyone,
The fan on my Gateway DX4870-UB21P died. Does anyone know what size fan I need? I tried search on google but I couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi mousehouse –
I did a bit of digging though the DX4870 manual but couldn’t find the fans specifications listed anywhere. However given my past experience, and judging from the photos of your model computer model I’m pretty sure you’re looking for an 80mm Case Fan, which we sell here. If that fan turns out to be too small the next standard size up is the 120mm Case Fan, though I’m pretty confident 80mm is what you’re looking for. If you have any other questions feel free to post again.

Michael,
Thanks for getting back to be so quickly. Finally opened the computer and is round and does measure 80mm from hole to hole but it sits between screws that hold the defuser (not sure the correct name) down. Will the square one fit between the screws?

Hi mousehouse –
Hard to say as I’m having a tough time understanding what you’re describing. Though the measurement of fans isn’t the distance between screw holes, but the measure of one of the sides of the square frame holding the fan. However if you’re seeing around 80mm between the screw holes we may be looking at a 92mm fan, which is the only size I’m aware of between 80 and 120. If that’s the case you may have a harder time finding a replacement, as 92mm fans are used far less commonly then 80 and 120, and are not something we sell.
