You'd need to say what the problem is if you want any kind of estimate.

How much would it cost to get my car fixed? $10-$10,000 depending on what's wrong with it.

In simplicity, if you're not specific enough you'll get a vague answer. The same goes for emailing a company and say you're looking for something but don't give a clue on what.

Computers can be very expensive to repair and you may just as well call your current unit a loss and buy a new one for cheap if your budget allows it. Repairs only fix a problem and they are prone to repeat problems if the issue may not be resolved on the first repair.
