I have recently made a purchase of the device indicated in the subject of this message. My understanding while in the store, based from an employee's knowledge of this item, is that I would be able to program the three keys on the side for any number of purposes. It is now becoming quickly apparent that this is not the case and that these keys are supposed to function as a way to switch between different computers.
Is there any way to program these keys to perform auxiliary functions for a single device?

Hi JoshuaProctor –
It does appear that our associate incorrectly informed you, as the M720 does not have programmable keys. However nearly all of Logitech’s gaming class mice do include multiple programmable keys though their gaming software As an example the G602 is a wireless gaming mouse with 11 programmable keys. If wireless isn’t a necessity and you’re looking for something a bit simpler the G300S is another great choice.
I recommend heading back to your local store where there should be a Logitech gaming display with keyboard and mice setup to test, where you should be able to determine which mouse suits you best, then exchange the M720 for your preferred model. If you have any other questions feel free to post again.
