I am interested in buying HP - 14" Laptop - AMD Athlon Silver - 4GB Memory - 128GB SSD - Jet Black Model:14-DK1003DX SKU:640344. It will mainly be used for home AOL email, Facebook, YouTube videos and documents / spreadsheets.
Qs: Can/will Best Buy load the latest compatible releases of Linux Mint, LibreOffice, a basic Adobe Acrobat PDF application, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox Web Browser (All with associated start up icons on Desktop) for free when I purchase this HP Laptop? If a slightly different Laptop would be better for these, do recommend. How would I stipulate my wishes when ordering on-line for shipment to me?

Hello, SuperAsh,
Welcome to our online community. Thanks for making your first post!
Bobberuchi is right on with his answer - software and Operating System installations are not included with the purchase of a computer. Geek Squad does offer Operating System installations and software installations as services available at an additional cost. Keep in mind that changing Operating Systems can get tricky, as drivers, the software that makes your hardware work within the Operating System (such as mice and keyboards) will not always be available for Linux, and may require downloading and converting the drivers externally to get your peripheries to work. The technical specs of the computer do meet the minimum requirements for the software and Operating System that you mentioned. Adobe is no longer supported for Linux.
Best,

When you're in the world of Linux there are a lot of free alternatives to the big names out there, thats the reason you're using Linux because you don't want to go into the paid world of the big coroporations and you want to break free from license agreements. If you decide to install any kind of Linux I would make sure you make a media recovery kit with your unit just in case you decide it's not for you.
While not related - I heard manufacturers only warrant systems for the origiinal OS so if you install another OS you're potentially treading on the void of your warranty............
