Lenovo H50-55 video card/power supply compatibility

Hello all, I am new to any type of these forums and new to DIY computer upgrading.

I have a Lenovo H50-55, with the AMD A-10 processor, 12GB of memory, and 2TB HDD, which I would like to upgrade for doing personal photo, standard 1080, and some 4K video editing. According to YouTube and some internet research, due to the type of mother board (FM2) and processor (AMD A10)I have, I could only upgrade HDD to SSD, which I have done, and add a video card and upgraded power supply to support that video card. I am looking for budget video card, nothing too extravagant, as I am not too much into gaming, but would like to do some 4K video editing. Anyone have any suggestions, or knowledge on what parts are compatible with this unit?

Re: Lenovo H50-55 video card/power supply compatibility

Hey there, Martian!

It sounds like you have made some awesome upgrades for sure, and we love hearing you intend to keep making it better! Working on a PC in this way is always a fun time.

We would be hard-pressed to provide a graphics card recommendation via our Forums, as we would not have a way to evaluate how much space is available in your PC case, as well as how many watts your new power supply can support, etc. I do see that you mentioned video editing. In video editing, the CPU is often just as if not more important for many of the processes. While I cannot suggest a specific graphics card, I may advise taking a look at this link, here. I've filtered down some options that may work well for you!
