Hello,
I'll be returning back to school to study information technology. I was thinking of getting a Macbook Pro and setting it up so that it runs windows and mac OS but I wanted to know some recommendations before I purchase one. I'm not sure if there is a preference to laptops in the IT world but any help is appreciated.
Thank you,

On a personal note. If your going into IT start with an inexpensive laptop. Something that can run a word processing program and allow you to access your school internet sites.
Then, as a recommendation to an IT person, build your own tower system. Absolutly nothing better for learning the inner workings of a computer then to build one yourself. Many of the parts you would need can be found at Best Buy.
I would even suggest down the road if you need a job while in school to get one in the Geek Squad. Great experience and resume filler.
While going to school you won't need somethign as high end as a Mac. Your going to want to learn how to set up networks, web servers thing like that. And to be truthful you don't need high end gear to learn that. Though the Macs are a great place to start.
