Insignia ns-p10w8100 tablet - usb boot

I know this tablet is way out of date, but I am trying to boot from a usb stick.  Trying to install Ubuntu, etc.  The american megatrends BIOS recognizes a usb stick when it is inserted in the standard USB port on the detachable keyboard.  I can change the boot order to usb device first and disable windows boot manager, windows recovery, and UEFI.  But, every time I save and exit out of the BIOS, I boot right up into windows.  The usb drive flashes its LED, but does nothing

There is a USB-c on the tablet itself.  Do I have to use that to usb boot?

Just curious.  Hopefully someone has an idea.

The easy test would be to burn a windows USB and see if it boots off that.

If it does burn a new enough copy of linux that supports uefi and try again

Hi, ccrjon,

Thanks for joining our community and reaching out.

You may need to boot directly off of the port that is on the computer rather than through the keyboard. It will depend on when the computer actually sees the ports on the keyboard.

I’d suggest picking up something like this to plug the drive into the USB-C post, and trying it out.
