could you be more specific as to which pop ups or do you have an example?
Generally speaking pop ups are quite often the result of a specific software you installed. Quite often they can be controlled with a setting. But some are malicious and may come from web sites you visited or things you accepted online For example Microsoft Outlook has a setting to turn off message pop ups
To turn them off you go to
File > Options > Message Arrival > and select to not display a message pop up.
If you can isolate the program that is sending the pop up you may be able to find the setting by doing a search in google for Turn off alert or pop up
