Well after trying a few things and having unsuccessful result, I am seeking help.
I have a cable box: (similar )
Sadly I haven't found a USB cord to try, and I only have Sata outlets, not eSata so..
I am just wondering, if I come across the USB cord, will that be all I need for it to play in Windows Media Center? I tried hooking it up with the usual RYW cable through n S-Video adapter that came with my video card ( 8800gts ) but again, no result. Any tips appreciated!

@Inutel-
Sadly I do not have a TV Tuner Card. I run Windows Vista Home Premium (x64). It is also a custom computer I built. But based on the replies it's suggesting I need one? That a simple USB connection between the two will not be sufficient?

I dont think that your cable box can stream contents thru its USB ports, that wont work. Also check your video card s-video plug, most likely it's video out only (for TV monitor). You need some kind of input device for your pc to be able to connect it to your cable box, either a TV tuner card, a capture card (usb or pci card) etc.

Also, you could pick up a Pinnacle USB tuner.
