So i've been looking these 2 laptops and i need help deciding which one to buy if i get the inspiron im gonna add another 8 GB of RAM and a 250 SSD, and the omen im not going to make any upgrades to it so i need help deciding which one should i get.

What are you looking to do with it? If you're going to be gaming on it, the Omen is probably going to be better since it's 1080p native vs. the 4k display of the Dell. The video card will not be able to keep up with modern 4k gaming on the Dell, but you can always use a lower resolution if needed.

If you're looking to use it as a workstation, the Dell would probably be better because of the screen resolution.

From a hardware standpoint, they are very similar. If at all possible, use the computers in person to see which display screen looks better to you.

Well im looking for gaming and for college imma be doing programming stuff and about games i just wanna play like GTAV And Rainbow six, about the screen i dont really care about it

The deal with the screen is that the Dell is a 4k display (3840x2160) which means that your video card needs to render 8,294,400 pixels. Compared to 1080p which is 1920x1080 or a total of 2,073,600 pixels. This means that your video needs to work 4 times as hard on the 4k display.

In terms of performance, you'd be looking at a lot less FPS in games with the 4k display unless you get something with a more powerful video card.

Again, you can turn down the resolution to something lower when you're playing games, but it won't look as good since it's not longer the native resolution for that display screen.

Oh ok i see what you mean so overall the omen still a better choice?

For gaming yes, but the 4k display on the Dell will be pretty nice for everything else. So I guess it would depend on the breakdown of what you'll be using it for. Do you plan on using an external monitor with the laptop? Or just the laptop's display screen?

If you can accept either worse performance or slightly worse image quality, the Dell would be better. If you want a computer that's mostly for gaming, the Omen is better.

I dont plan using an external display and i want the one with better performance since i wont be doing any design stuff or editing videos or pictures so i just need the best performance
