I'm trying to decide on a HP Spectre x360 4K 2 in 1 laptop or on a Surface Pro 4. It looks like the HP is fairly new and it has received 2 good reviews. Any recommendations? Thank you in advance!

Well the Spectre cerainly seems to have more power with the i7 processor, 16gb ram and twice the SDD capacity.
I do like the larger screen as well.
However, the Surface does come with a pen. I would hazard to guess the Spectre having that much more power and a larger display may be have a less available battery time.
All things considered and how I would use such a device I would probalby go with the Surface.

As bobberuchhi pointed out, both devices are very different from eachother and we would really need to know what for and how you plan on using it before we can give any solid advice on which best suits your needs.

This would be for my husband and I. This is going to be replacing our desktop. We are only going to be using for surfing the net and I would like something I can download alot of pictures. I know I would be splurging if I got the HP for what we are going to use it for but my husband said to get something good He likes the idea of the keyboard detatching for the tablet but he says it's not necessary. I like the idea too especially if I want to record my sons wrestling matches but it seems that the HP is cheaper for what you get than the Surface.

Based on the description of your needs and how you would use the device, I would definitely say the HP Spectre seems to suit your needs more. While yes it is overkill power wise for what your needs are, when comparing features and cost with the Surface, I would personally direct you towards the HP.
While the Surface has a lot of cool features like being able to shoot video, and handwriting capabilities, these features are more targeted towards business users and students who are always on the go. In my opinion there is a greater value in putting that money towards a faster machine like the Spectre, with a larger screen and more storage space that will last you longer down the road.
In the end though, If you haven’t already I suggest heading into your local Best Buy so you can put your hands on both devices to determine truly which you and your family prefer.

@INGRAM57, thank you for your inquiry which has received excellent feedback from @bobberuchi and @Michael-BBY. We certainly do appreciate the positive references to the HP Spectre 360. Regarding one comment about the battery life: "...I would hazard to guess the Spectre having that much more power and a larger display may be have a less available battery time." please this statement about the Spectre battery in the product description on the Best Buy site.
