HP Omen Issues, again.

[ Edited ]

Basically, whenever my hp omen is unplugged and I try to plug it back in, the charging light will go white, red, then white, or red, white, then off. The computer truly needs to charge instead of malfunction. Does anyone know how to fix this? {removed per forum guidelines}. Thank you so much and have a nice day.

Its ether the battery is bad or was left discharged for to long and needs replaced, or you bent or broke the center pin in the charger cord.

Re: HP Omen Issues, again.

Hey there, JackD1333,

Sorry to hear you're still having issues with your HP Omen. Your last thread about a similar issue had just about all the answers we could currently recommend. I'm going to quote my fellow specialist, Dave's, reply for ease of access:

While it is not common, especially for a unit that is only about 2 years old, it can happen depending on use. That being said, I would suggest starting with the power cable. While it may show that it's charging, the charger may not be providing the level of power the unit needs to properly operate. Second, I'd look into the battery. While the unit should power up on the power cable alone, even if the battery is depleted, the battery combined with issues with the power cable could be causing issues. If the above proves to be unsuccessful, I would begin to consider bringing into our Geek Squad agents so they can run a diagnostic and ensure it's not something on the logic board or with the power supply itself.

If you do need to speak with one of our Geek Squad Agents, you can schedule an appointment via this link. Alternatively, please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any additional questions!

Re: HP Omen Issues, again.

I had ordered a few days back an HP Genuine Part for my charging cable off of Amazon. If that doesn’t work, then when I get the money, I’m going to buy a new PC. I’m generally afraid of the bill though, if I bring my computer to geek squad without it being under warranty.

None of those things, PC has been plugged in and charged ever since I bought it except for power outages on a surge protector, however thanks so much for the recommendation.

The battery isnt to hard to replace on those. Just be aware you will probably damage the rubber strips on the bottom taking them off.

Re: HP Omen Issues, again.

I have taken out and unplugged the battery several times as recommendations, however I plan on getting a new PC soon anyways sometime so I never found it worth spending more money on my OMEN.
