Going on Vacation? Get a Chromebook to Make Things Go Smoother

Vacations are exciting, but those long plane rides, not so much.

While a lot of planes these days have screens for watching select content, not all of them do, so I like to show up prepared. I took trips to Maine and California back-to-back, so I knew I wanted a tablet or laptop that I could use while waiting around the airport and on my flights, but would also work with my normal life when I got back.

After looking at a variety of 2-in-1-laptops, I decided to purchase the Lenovo Touch-Screen Chromebook. I loved that the size is travel friendly and that I can use it like a laptop, or choose to fold over the keyboard, to have the touch-screen act like a tablet. That said, the screen was also big enough that I knew my boyfriend could easily watch The Good Place along with me throughout our flights together.

Next up, we needed to figure out a convenient way we could both listen while we watch. Since he likes to listen to music at the gym, he decided to go with Sony’s Sport Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones. Having headphones that are meant for working out is less of a priority for me (since that would mean I actually make an effort to go to the gym), so I decided on the extra comfortable Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones from Sennheiser. Since the Chromebook will only connect to one Bluetooth device at a time, we got the handy Aluratek Bluetooth Audio Transmitter, which made it easy for us both to listen and enjoy the episodes we downloaded for the flight.

Since it was our first time visiting Maine, I knew I’d want to use the Chromebook in its laptop form when trying to research fun activates to do in Portland. The touchscreen makes it convenient to use even when I don’t have a mouse on-hand, but the Logitech mouse in the summer bouquet design is so cute and functional, that I love keeping it near-by for easy use.

I’m so glad that I decided to pick-up a Chromebook before my trips, as it really helped that travel time fly by, but also gets a lot of use now that I’m back home! My favorite feature in my day-to-day life is that I can fold over the keyboard and use it to prop up the screen, so it’s super convenient to view whatever new recipe I’m trying out from Pinterest while I’m in the kitchen trying to figure things out.

Chromebooks are great travel mates. Especially if you have a more expensive laptop which you wouldn't want to risk damage to.
