Like the title, my new Flex Windows tablet keeps powering itself on. When I click "Shut down" either from the Start menu or the login screen, or if I hold the power button until the "Slide down to power off" and do so, it appears to power off. Then, 10-15 seconds later, it powers on again, showing the Insignia logo like a cold boot.. After the configured "Sleep" time it seems to go to sleep. I would *really* like to power it down rather than put it to sleep to save battery life. Will it not do this? i have yet to come across a tablet that won't. Is there a BIOS setting accessible that I can change?

Replying to myself....
My wife has the same tablet and it turns off as expected. Mine inisisted on doing a WIndows Update when I first turned it on, and her doesn't have that update yet. I'm anxious to see what happens to her since it is asking to do the update. I'm wondering if MS updated a power driver or something similar, and broke the ability to turn completely off. I'll have to look through what all updated and see if there's something I can roll back. If anyone else has experienced this, I'd appreciate a bit of guidance.
Thanks, Microsoft. Not.

Good Morning jkj1962,
Welcome to the Insignia Support Online Forum Community! Powering off your device is a great way to save the battery life of your Flex 10.1” tablet. I’m sorry to hear that yours is not allowing you to do this simple feature, but your wife’s is letting her.
Performing the updates that are offered upon setting up your unit for the first time are highly recommended. It’s disappointing to hear that you think the issue you’re experiencing may be related to the Windows Update. At this time not being able to power your unit down shouldn’t be occurring. I highly recommend making an appointment with your local Best Buy’s Geek Squad. They’d be happy to review your issue, and make some recommendations to remedy the issue. You can make an appointment here.
Respectfully,
Mariah

Well, thankfully it has resolved itself following subsequent Windows Updates. My talbet will now shut down as it is supposed to.
The same thing happened on my wife's tablet after installing the Windows 10 1709 update, and then resolved as well once the subsequent updates were installed.
I don't know exactly which update "breaks" it, but one of the next group "fixes" it. Gotta love Microsoft.

Hello jkj1962,
Thanks for sharing the issue present resolved it’s self after completing another update from Windows! It’s so odd that last one effected your tablet in that way. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to share with us, and for bringing this to our attention.
Respectfully,
Mariah

If an OS update goes awry, a factory default of the unit will sometimes resolve odd behavior.
