Fix Cost

I have a 15in HP laptop that I recently dropped which caused the top of my screen to go black but it is still usable I wanted to know if any one had this same issue and how much it cost to fix it. should I get it fix or buy a new one?

Re: Fix Cost

Much of the answer would depend  on how old the laptop is?

How much did you pay for it in the first place?

Minimum cost would be around $100, plus parts and any labor above and beyond an hour.

First thing I would recommend though.  since it is still usable right now I would get a jump drive or several and back up anything you don't want to lose.

Re: Fix Cost

Hey there, ASuarez99!

Thanks for taking the time to connect with us on our forums about this! We know how concerning it can be when computer issues are creeping up on you!

Like anything in life, the issue you're describing has the chance to get worse at any moment. I love what bobberuchi mentioned about backing up your files to make sure you don't lose anything while your computer is still working properly. If you need assistance in this process, our Geek Squad Agents should totally be able to help!

We wouldn't be able to estimate the repair cost without taking a closer look at the details of your computer and the damage it may have sustained. For us to do this, you would simply want to schedule an appointment to visit one of our expert Geek Squad Agents in-store.
