I have a 15in HP laptop that I recently dropped which caused the top of my screen to go black but it is still usable I wanted to know if any one had this same issue and how much it cost to fix it. should I get it fix or buy a new one?

Much of the answer would depend on how old the laptop is?
How much did you pay for it in the first place?
Minimum cost would be around $100, plus parts and any labor above and beyond an hour.
First thing I would recommend though. since it is still usable right now I would get a jump drive or several and back up anything you don't want to lose.
