External hard drive

I have a Toshiba laptop 8GB memory and 750GB Hard drive. I need to get a portable external hard drive to save the entire memory onto. I have so many flash drives in a drawer and just want to save everthing onto one thing. I want to be safe just in case something happens to the computer so I don’t lose anything. Documents, pictures etc. Any ideas? Please idiot proof. I’m not a computer whiz. I’ve looked at the Best Buy web site but I don’t which one to pick. Thanks!

Re: External hard drive

I have been in the exact same boat.

Love your comment. I must say that in computers there is no such thing as idiot proof. Hee Hee

However, that aside I think the WD (Western Digital) Easystore would be a perfect fit for you.  It is only $50 for 1 TB or $10 more for 2 TB

While I write no such thing as idiot proof.  These are pretty close. You simply plug it into a USB Slot.  Your laptop should self load the drivers and then it will appear as a drive on your computer and you can treat it just like a jump drive or HDD

Thanks for answering. After researching I think it is the way to go. It’s amazing what you can find on YouTube. Thanks again for your help.
