External HDD from Internal HDD

I am buying a new TIVO. 

 

TIVO only supports external WD HDD via eSata connection. 

 

WD does not make external  Sata HDD anymore.

 

My though it so buy an HDD enclosure and an internal sata HDD.

 

 

Except I am finding it difficult to find an enclosure that has Sata cable connections. 

 

any thoughts

I don't know how much savvy you are with a soldering iron but I seen DIY sites offer the board connections for those adapters so maybe you can get a reverse board or so forth. Build your own box?

Boxes are only $10 to $20 and I am not terrilbly savvy with the iron

eSata hdd cases pretty much disappeared. You may be able to find one on amazon to newegg.

There are hard to find. 

 

Turned out the TIVO was defective and would not pair with the Cable Card.  Tivo support finally had me return it. Spectrum offered me 1 year of free DVR service.  Wow after having had a working TIVO for 7 years the Spectrum DVR is a horrible product.
