Computer to TV?

I have a close friend who is looking to hook up his computer to his HDTV to watch his netflix on his new HDTV... He lacks a proper vidio/graphics card, is this all he needs to accomplish this?

 

Yes his computer is fairly new, just cheap and lacks hardware. Yes the Tv has more than enough hook-ups...

The Radeon HD series of Video Cards have an HDMI port and its all you need to accomplish this.

Yes after connecting to the laptop to the t(say via HDMI) try switiching monitors(usually Function + F5) the F button will depend on brand(just look for the little pictures on your F Keys)
