I had this similar issue with my laptop. We found out it was the NIC card. This issue caused my laptop not to connect/see the internet. We tried everything cutting off, rebooting, new modems, routers, etc. It wasn't any of those issues just a NIC card issue. You can purchase a USB NIC card online.
It was suggested by my IT dept to purchase a USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet NIC Network Adapter -10/100/1000 Mbps. There's wireless adapters, this adapter is wired. Or it can be replaced internally on the laptop by a computer shop. Bestbuy. Office depot, office max. Bestbuy website sells them at reasonable prices.
