Did you buy it from a Best Buy Store? You should look at service plans, as well as a Geeksquad set up, to remove the junk programs that come with, as well as adding ant virus, anti spyware and creating the restore disks.
Other accessories you might be looking at might include:

Nah......... i did all the optimizations myself...... Im a comp science guy
But wanted to know what specific things everyone reccomends......... what brand in particular........

not much u can get with that.
memory upgrade (u can upgrade that to a 2gb, dd2 667ram), basic antivirus software (doesn't take up much hard drive space) u can get a bag, external hard drive/usb flash drive. LG also makes a portable dvd external hard drive you can get with it
earphones/head sets for skype communications.

So you spent hours cleaning the computer's registry?

For a netbook, i'll start with a memory upgrade. A bag to protect it, a bluetooth mouse (if you have bluetooth, saves wires & extra dongles) maybe an external DVD drive if you plan of using it. Me personally, i don't like the extra stuff attached to my netbook, so much for it's portability. I just transfer stuff to hardrive using my local network.

Geek Squad optimization have AgentTweak Software that lets them tweak your computer's registry (different brand have different ones they use) to the fullest extend. just simply by removing softwares and bootup program from msconfig won't do s-word
they can go a step beyond, unless like sassum said, u actually sat around spent hours tweaking

Thats very funny cgweddle63
Your attempt to make me look like a illiterate computer user has failed miserably. I have nothing against the Geek Squad, but Im perfectly capable of doing what they can do and more. I know all about the secret optimizations that they think we do not know. Whatever they do can be achieved in the top computer programs that are sold on the retail market and more.
Since you appear to have more knowledge then I do about their services , you clearly sound like a disgruntled employee out ther trying to tease the **** out of me.

What programs are these, if I may ask?
Also, never once did he attempt to make you "look like a illiterate computer user"(sic). He simply said that it MAY BE possible to do said tweaks, but it would take a VERY LONG TIME. Your reference to "retail programs" without any real references leads me to believe that you, in fact, are the one trying to tease the employees.
