I'm running WIndows 7 and I've got the exact same problem witht he exact same adapter. I've disabled the antivirus software and the firewall. It will not install the driver. Hangs up and says "Failed to Validate Bluetooth Device". Running the installer as administrator has no effect. I've tried every USB port on the computer, with the same results.
BTW, http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php is a dead link.
You can't install the drivers because it fails to validate the adapter.

I just bought it earlier today and am taking it back now. I even called their support and was told I should turn off my firewall. Telling me to turn off my firewall to download anything these days is a bad idea. They have no way to get drivers outside of the installer app. Don't bother buying this.

I was able to RESOLVE this issue (exact same as everyone elses Failed Validation / failed to update software)
By doing the following:
This will work with probably about every version of windows from 7-10. I did this one windows 10 and nothing else.
1: Go to Device Manager (this can be done by left clicking on most start buttons. including 7/8.1/10)
2: Plug in USB Bluetooth Device
3: Check Device Manager and look for your bluetooth device, which should come up as BCM20XXXXX (BCM20702A0) (the X's will be different depending on your exact model but it is not important, what is important, is that you find the proper device. The device should pop up as soon as you plug it in and you will see display manager flicker and it will repopulate its listing. you will probably see a yellow mark on the icon telling you something is wrong, which is correct. )
4: Right Click on the BCM20702A0 in device manager and click on "update driver software"
5: Select Browse my computer for updates,
6: Select "Let me pick from a list of Device Drivers"
7: Select "Broadcom" on the left list of manufactures.
8elect "BCM2033 Single".. Driver on the right.
9: Click Install
Reboot
This will allow you to use your NS-PCY5BMA On windows 10 using the default windows bluetooth interface utilizing the BCM2035 Driver which appears to be compatible, as I have been using it the past few hours without issues for my PS4 controller and headset.

Well done! I still got a message saying that Windows could not verify that the hardware was compatible with my machine, but I overrode that and it seems to be working o.k. Thanks for posting this solution.

I had the same thing happen as everyone else. The NS-PCY5BMA wouldn't install. Finally, I decided to find a compatible Broadcom Driver. The IOGear Bluetooth 4.0 USB Micro Adapter also uses the WIDCOMM Bluetooth drivers from Broadcom. So, I went to their website at the link below, installed the software, and it found the drivers automatically. Now everything works!

Are you seriously going to blame the operating system, you guys are jerking everyone around with a piece of hardware that does not work, furthermore, i have tried this in 3 different computers with 3 different windows operating systems, and i have returned one and i am on my 2nd dongle, and have spent an entire day trying to get this working to no avail,. DON'T string people along just tell them that the thing don't work because the outcome is going to be inevitably the same, NO BLUETOOTH until we buy a different product, i started trying tio install this at 6:30 this morning it iws now 13 hours later and NOTHING you suggest nothing i try is fixing this problem, i ahve called you guys numerous times and NOTHING, DONT BLAME OUR OPERATINBG SYSTEMS, ITS NOT THE OPERATING SYSTEMS... LOST CAUSE

I fixed the problem by unplugging the adapter and replugging it to my multi usb adapter. It then registered at the bottom right of the task bar and I was able to turn bluetooth on again.
