I have followerd the instructionss given with the adapter, downloaded and run the setup, but it keeps stalling at "Validate Bluetooth Device" with the message "Failed to update Bluetooth software. There was no CD included in the packaging.
I have read a couple of discussions on this and tried unplugging the dongle and restarting the computer. Then I ran the setup, waited for it to ask me to insert the device, inserted the device, and same problem.
I'm running Windows Vista.

Hello db_in_sd,
Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
Did this computer have Bluetooth equipment installed previously? if so, you may need to locate the driver information for the original equipment and remove that before this driver can install.

Jon

Hi,
I'm having the same problem with my NS-PCY5BMA adapter, and I also have Vista. When I download and run the setup, the process gets stuck on "Validate Bluetooth Device" and in the same dialog box there is a message "Failed to Update Bluetooth Software." My computer did not have bluetooth equipment installed previously. I've also tried restarting the computer and running the setup again, without success.
There is a chime when I insert the bluetooth adapter. The Windows message pops up "Windows needs to install driver software for your BCM20702A0." The options are to "Locate and Install Driver Software," "Ask Me Again Later," and "Don't Show this Message Again for This Device." Perhaps as would be expected, if one clicks on "Locate and Install Driver Software," Windows can't actually seem to locate any software.
What should I do? Thanks for your help!

Hello jgmein,
Thank you for responding!
If you download the driver to your computer, can you then direct the "Install Driver Software" to open that saved file?

First post but fighting the same issue of no software load and stuck install....NS-PCY5BMA.
The last post asks if the driver can be installed by downloading and manually installing....
One question ......how do you download the fileif the installer does not work and there is no way to get file.
I have been to various sites offering the drivers only to ALL are a very thinly vailed offer to sell the ability to download.
Multiple reloads and at least twenty five efforts to install. Even tried copying W7 drivers to no avail.
ANy help or do i return the thing?

Hi Jon,
Yes, I don't quite understand... I can download the setup file from the website (SetupBtwDownloadSE.exe) but can't actually run the entire Bluetooth Software Download because it gets stuck on "Validate Bluetooth Device" with the message "Failed to update Bluetooth Software." So I don't seem to be able to download the driver to begin with.
Suggestions?

Jon,
The problem that jgmein has is the same problem that I have. If I could go to a site and actually download the drivers, outside of using the setup wizard, then I would be able to direct the setup wizard to where the drivers are located. I think that might be the solution.
Is there a way I can download the drivers separately from using the setup wizard? Or, could someone email me the files or a link to a site where I can download the drivers?
Thank you.

Hello ****,
Thank you for responding!
The Driver is available for download through the product page at http://www.insigniaproducts.com/products/computer-speakers-accessories/NS-PCY5BMA.html under the Support tab. That will download the full installer, you just want to make sure instead for "Run" you select Save, and then run the installation from the Windows new device found screen.

Jon
