Hey there, Rickyp123,
It sounds like you're already working to resolve this, but I just wanted to jump in and give you a link to our Return & Exchange Promise. That way you have all the details around that should you need to exchange this item because of the bent pin.
Please also know:
While we do allow returns/exchanges for defective items, we do not allow returns/exchanges for items damaged due to user error. The distinction between these two is best determined by your local Best Buy store. When in doubt, we do not encourage you to attempt your own repair that may cause damage.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can assist with!

If he opened the case would he still be able to return it. Or once attempting his own fix would he negate return and or service plan as well as warenty

That's a great point that I should've mentioned in my previous reply, bobberuchi!

I'm also going to add this to my post above for clarity.

Rickyp123,
I know the feeling well. I recently purchased a 3TB hard drive, loaded everything on it, and then realized that I purchased the wrong one. The good news is, our Return & Exchange Promise is great and it's our pleasure to assist however we're able!
Please don't hesitate to let us know if anything additional comes up.
