I am on my third MSI gaming laptop.
My first one some years ago took about 8 days.
My second one arived in 5 days
The one I am currenly using I ordered December 28th 2017 and I got it around January 7th
However, for each of them I opted for in store pick up. Which on a computer this expesnive I would never want to have it left on my front door.
I have been exceptionally happy with all my MSI gaming computers

There are not a lot of them not available for store pick up. so the one your getting is pretty sweet.

I am in the same boat and contacted MSI. They are expiditing shipping of the restock but who knows what that means.
My order just says in progress and order received. It doesn't actually say backorder but I see that bckorders are canceled after 14 days. Is that 14 days after it says backorder on the status or just 14 days after I placed order? I would really rather the order not be canceled as long as we are within a couple months....
