Asus G50Vt-X1 Graphics Card Question

[ Edited ]

On the BestBuy website the specifications are listed as the G50Vt-X1 having a 9800M GS, but I have read online that it should contain a 9800M GT.  Is this a typo on the webpage, or does it contain a 9800 GS?

Thank you.

Re: Asus G50Vt-X1 Graphics Card Question

Some models of laptops are configured differently for each store it sells at so its probably listing the possible accomodations the OEM is able to add in for retail.

Re: Asus G50Vt-X1 Graphics Card Question

When I checked the System Information tab under the nVidia control panel on the display model at the store, it listed it as being a 9800M GT. When I took my machine home and updated the video card drivers, it changed to a 9800M GS under the same tab. I've read somewhere else on the internet that it was an error with the 9800M GT being incorrectly displayed as such when it is in actuality a 9800M GS.

As a side note, I was a little disappointed when I discovered this, as having the GT card was a huge selling point for me. As it stands, I'm still glad I bought it since it was on sale and still a great deal.
