Hello friends, a problem has been happening on my Windows 10 computer. I have tried to open a PDF file, but it failed. I do not have any idea what to do. Has anyone encountered such a problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The file association is probably not set correct. Typically MS Edge, Chrome and Firefox and view them in browser. There are many free alternatives you can install which will allow you to open them with an external application.

Hello there, PorterMorar!
Thank you for taking the time to reach out about this issue. First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you're having a problem like this. Although it may be somewhat of a "smaller" one, I understand how frustrating it can be. As mentioned above by our lovely super users, there are a few things that could be wrong here.
The first idea is that you don't have a program that can properly read PDFs. An example of a common program is Adobe Acrobat PDF reader. You should be able to download that free off the web. The second thing is maybe you have it installed, but it isn't set as the default application to open a PDF. That's what hockeycanuckjc was pointing too. I hope these ideas help out! If you're still running into issues or are unsure of how to proceed, I'd be happy to set you up with an appointment at your local Geek Squad!
Thank you again for your post!

Thanks for getting back to us on this! I'm happy to hear that! The next idea was updating, if it already were installed. When in doubt, an update or reinstall of a program solves most issues! If you have any other problems with this or anything else, feel free to reach back out!
Have a great rest of your Wednesday.
