Are you a power user or a casual user? 64 bit is for power users who want to maintain strong compatability and 32 bit is for everyday users..
64 Bit cant run some programs like 32 bit can.

all comes down to what software u use, make sure they're vista compatible AND 64 bit comaptible, check this before u install it. a lot of software out there are still not 64 bit compatible. they're beginning to now.
sometimes like work specific software may not even be 64bit compatible

vista sux if u only have 2gb or less of ram.
if u have 2gb or less of ram i'd recommend to stay with xp.
vista is a memory eater. if u have 3gb or more of ram, vista should run with no problems.
i use vista because i am a gamer. it actually have something windows xp doesnt have, Directx 10, which improves the graphics by a lot from directx 9
