Total tech membership and remote start install bought elsewhere?

From looking through the posts from actual BB mods it looks like this is supposed to be possible but last Saturday I had made a consultation appointment at my local BB at 5:30PM. First thing the auto tech had already gone home, and all lights were out! Then 4 other employees proceeded to tell me they would NOT install any remote starts not purchased directly through BB. This the was store at 1560 W Koger Center Blvd, Richmond, VA 23235. Phone:

(804) 897-8080

I setup the consult to find out what other parts will be needed to install my Avital 4105L on my 2010 Toyota RAV4 4cyl standard key and no JBL.

Re: Total tech membership and remote start install bought elsewhere?

This would be up to the stores discretion if they wish to install a product that will not be warrantied by the manufacturing company.  If the product is not sold by a business that also offers professional installation then they will void the warranty on the product.  Most installers want to make sure you take advantage of our Lifetime Labor warranty, but also have the warranty from the manufacturing company in effect also so that you can be protected.

If you're still wishing to have that particular remote start installed then I would try another shop, but know in advance I cannot promise a different outcome will take place.  I do apologize for the inconvenience.

I am a CAR Geek Squad Autotech, but the views that I post are my own and not that of Best Buy.
