Hello! I just bought this car and it has a Pinoneer DEH-X6800BS, and I have an iPod shuffle from 6 years ago. I loaded music to it, put the stereo on USB mode (I only have the cable where one end is a USB and the other is the aux that plugs into the iPod.
The stereo just get saying "Format iPod" and won't play any music?? I'm not sure what this means, it works fine with headphones and such, what is it asking me to format?
Thank you in advance!

*High-Five* for being in the old school iPod shuffle club! I thought I would be the only one rocking the shuffle, even after all of the abuse I put it through working out. I believe I understand what could be causing the issue, and I didn’t want to just provide you with a response that was “because it isn’t compatible.” Thanks for registering with the Best Buy forums to ask your question!
This specific MP3 player used a proprietary USB to Headphone jack connection. The style of this plug was never fully compatible with any of our head units that we carried. However, an auxiliary cord with a double head phone jack should still play your audio through the aux port, but any artist or title information would be not display.
All other Bluetooth devices, and Apple cords should be compatible with your Pioneer DEH-X6800BS! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I’d be happy to reply back as soon as possible!
