I believe the intentions of the usb is to allow you to play your mp3 player songs through that usb.  The headphone jack lowers the sound quality a bit, and alot of these newer vehicles are not coming equipped with CD players.  I have options for you if you were looking at picking up a new head unit, we do have a dash kit and harness availiable on best found here: dash kit and harness

I hope i didn't come off rude when you read this, but music through mp3 players and other media players are sweeping in.  If you are wanting further information about replacing your stereo and putting in a new one some features that you might pick up on, for a reasonable cost, are bluetooth, front end/back end usb's, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and auxillary inputs.  These are just some of the many options that we have available for you at your local store.  If you would be willing, the dash kit and harness would have to be ordered in, so please head into your closest best buy to order the parts for the installation.

I want to thank you for taking the time to write with us, and i do apologize that your new vehicle is making it so difficult to play a CD.
