Audio Installation Question

I am interested in buying a new head unit for my 2015 Kia (get a unit that supports apple carplay...). Anyway, my vehicle has a 6 speaker audio system (tweeters in the doors). The new receiver that I am looking at has 4 channels. Will this be compatible with my existing speaker system? Would it be an additional charge in connecting this ? Just trying to figure out if I need to look for a different head unit or not.

Thanks,

Greg

Re: Audio Installation Question

Greetings gclubb-

What a fantastic question to ask and I'm so happy to be able to provide you with, hopefully, the response you were hoping for.  Thank you for registering with the Best Buy forums to allow me this opportunity!

If the speakers are working when the radio is removed and the appropriate harnesses are used, just combine this with the MECP Autotechs we have installing, and you've found a winning combination!  Our installers will not only fully install your radio, but they will make sure you know how to use your new technology before you leave with our included demonstration!  Unless you're swapping out speakers, you shouldn't have to worry about this feature, more channels would just mean you purchase an amplifier to add on more sound and power, but 4 channels is the standard.

Smart move on considering Apple CarPlay, it really does create a seamless integration for your convenience while driving. Safety is key driving on our roads today, and don't hesitate to write back to me with the choice of radio, and I could provide you with a full quote for the parts and labor required.  This estimate could also be created by speaking with your local Autotech, and Blue Shirts, over the phone or in the store!

Let me know if I can assist you any further!
