portable DVD player

I have a portable DVD player that hooks into the car. I just bought it at best buy last week. There are two dvd players and one power cord. I am hoping I can order another power cord and be able to use the other player in my other vehicle. Is this possible? Thanks

Re: portable DVD player

Hello delta,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

Can you provide the model number for your portable DVD set, it will start with NS-.

Normally, there is a primary unit and a secondary unit. The primary unit can function solo, but the secondary can only work off of the primary unit. I would be happy to check your specific model though.

Hello delta,

Thank you for responding!

With this model number, you would be able to use them in separate cars if you had a second power cable. Unfortunately, no replacement parts are available from our part provider, partstore.com. You will need to locate a universal power cable that fits the DC IN port on the player and provides between 9-12 V DC.

Hello delta,

Thank you for responding!

You will need to get a universal power cable that fits the DC IN port on the player. The universal power cable will need to provide between 9-12 Volts DC. I would start by first looking at Best Buy for one of these universal power adapters. You can even bring the portable DVD player into the store to test fit the units to see if they will fit.
