It appears your only fix is to install a different operating system on your GPS. You won't regret it. Check out MioPocket or iGO8.

Hi from Quebec city, i will do my best in english. I have the same problem. i've lost datas by a formatted mistake on the SD card. I can't beleive they erased or lost all importants files to be able to run our GPS. No support ok but at least a little FTP server to be able to downlaod them !! It's a plastic thing. At least they could try to save our old earth. Now just becoz its cheap to buy a new recent one we must trow it. Im gonna ask to sellers on Ebay if they can zip all files (hidden ones include) and send it to me. All others OS possibles to install on this GPS have trojans in zip files. It was my last product from Insignia. TY

Polion,
Insignia never supported any way for you to get your data back. They offer no help, and we get in trouble if we try to help you with this protected data that they won't or can't give you.
Your best option is to load your card with a new operating system. iGo or MioPocket offer current maps and a better user interface. Look into doing that, because you'll never get the answer you are looking for from Insignia.

Its not "my" datas. It's datas needed to run the GPS from the SD card. Customers should be able to downlaod files without help/support.

Wonderfull, what i do is just trying to give a second life to a plastic box and giving it for a gift. It was working fine before i've formatted the SD card by mistake. This GPS run Windows CE5 OS. I've tried to install Miopocket. It run ok but GPS software like IGO Primo dont want to work with satellite signal. I admit i have paranoia while the hardware is working and it drive me nut if the reason is only a software reason. I spent many time on this hehe. I can buy a second hand very good GPS for 25$ i know. It's like a personal goal target for me to make this unit working again.
I really appreciate what you can do. If you good with computer make sure you see all files (hiden and system files). zip them and send it to me. Maybe its possible also to create an iso file of your SD card.
