My GPS will power on, but not stay on, while plugged into the a/c car adapter...Right after I "Accept" the terms screen, it gives me a message I need to plug into a power source, when it indeed is, then shuts off.  This unit is over a year old, so not still under warranty.  I have tried a different car adapter, and still the same issue.  The small green light on the car adapter is also not lighting up.  Should I try a new adapter or is it internal with the rechargable battery?

Hello Wlpurser,

It is likely that there is a hardware issue, however I can not be certain whether it is the adapter or the device itself. As a result, I would suggest that you take the unit to your local Geek Squad to have a diagnostic preformed.

Luckily, in my case it was the car-charger/adapter which had come apart at the end section & just needed to be reassembled and it's working now.   I did go to Best Buy and had the geek squad tech support look at it, and he quickly pointed out the adapter..... I had not even looked at the end, so I really felt like a nincompoop, but it was a easy fix.  :-)
