pictures keep timing out

Hi,

My picture frame - model NS-DPF9G - times out after 6 hours. I have to press play on the remote to reinitiate the slideshow.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: pictures keep timing out

Hello vandita,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

This is a power-saving feature of the frame.  You can turn Power Saving off by pressing Menu, then going to Set Up and navigating to Power Saving via the onscreen menus.  If this doesn't work for you, please let us know!

Re: pictures keep timing out

Hi,

I dont see the option setup when i go to the menu.

I see:

slide show transition

slide interval

slide shuffle

image display format

date time stamp

panorama scroll

adjust lcd color

none of these items lead me to the power saving item you have mentioned below.

thanks.

Re: pictures keep timing out

Hello again vandita,

You'll need to continue to press the up/down arrow controls until you reach the Power Saving option.  More details can be found in the owner's manual (page 24).  If changing the Power Saver setting doesn't resolve the issue, please let us know.

Re: pictures keep timing out

Hi,

Your suggestion worked. Thanks! Now I have another question: by keeping the picture frames on 24x7, is there any potential nagative impact to the device or its circuitry? I will turn it off over the weekend for sure, but was wondering about keeping it on Monday 8am though Friday 5:30pm. Thanks again for your insight.

Re: pictures keep timing out

Hello vandita,

The impact on the device will be a shorter life span. LCD screen will have an amount of hours, after which the panel will stop working (30.000 Hrs aprox). The more time the screen is ON, the shorter it will last. Also take into account that if the device is ON, it will be susceptible to voltage spikes that may damage the device. Other than that, there should be no problems with this device being ON for long periods.

Thank you,
Gonza
