Re: Video Format Problems with NS-DPF8TR 8" Digtal Picture Frame

I downloaded the VSC file extension converter and all I get is a tool bar for Price Going and an offer for Best Buy.  I can find no trace of the converter program anywhere.

Re: Video Format Problems with NS-DPF8TR 8" Digtal Picture Frame

I had the same problem.

Specifics:  Insignia 8" Digital Picture Frame (NS-DPF8TR)

Computer I'm using to transfer images from:  Intel-based iMac

Here is my problem defined:

1.  I created a few videos using my iPhone.

2.  I edited those videos with iMovie and saved in "m4v" format.

3.  This format is not recognized by Insignia.

      * According to the User Guide, only MJPEG and MPEG4 in .AVI and .MOV formats are supported.

I was able to achieve a satisfactory resolution after reading posts below.

Here is what I did:

1.  Downloaded MPEG StreamClip (http://www.squared5.com)

2.  Opened m4v video file created with iMovie inside MPEG StreamClip.

3.  Selected "Export to MPEG-4" in the File menu.

4.  Changed "Compression" option from "H.264" to "Apple MPEG4 Compressor"

5.  Left "Sound" option on default setting of "MPEG-4 AAC"

6.  Selected "Make MP4" and selected export directory.

7.  The file that is created has extension "mp4" which I changed to "mov"

8.  Movies worked once loaded in the Insignia frame (via USB thumb drive in my case)

PROBLEM:  Despite most of my videos working, one video refuses to work correctly.  Although it plays fine on my mac, when I view it on the Insignia frame, the video is split and ultimately freezes toward the end of the clip.  The video works fine on my computer (just not on the Insignia frame)...weird...still working on it...

Re: Video Format Problems with NS-DPF8TR 8" Digtal Picture Frame

The problem noted above was corrected when I changed the export type to "AVI" and kept everything else on the default setting within "MPEG StreamClip".  Now all of my videos are working well...but geez, what a waste of my time trying to get videos to play!  Please INSIGNIA...let us copy directly from our iPhones to the frame!  Smiley Happy
