Unable to see the video, but can hear the sound in Window Media Player

I have the NS-DV720P.  The camera is fine, I can see the video and hear the sound.  The problem is when I upload the file to the laptop (Windows Vista, Windows Media Player version 11).  Earlier today I was able to see the video in Windows Media Player, but the sound was out of synch with the picture.  After reading many of the posts on this site, I downloaded drivers from this site and now I can hear the sound, but the picture is gone.  I can upload the file to YouTube and it works just fine, but I really just want to see and hear the video in Windows Media Player.  Please help.

Thank you!

Hello DanaM,

Welcome to Community@Inisgnia™!

You are experiencing a typical codec issue. Seems the one you installed won't be compatible with the video. You will need to look for the most updated one. You may try with K-lite or CCP (Community Codec Pack)

Thank you,

Thank you!  I installed the Combined Community Codec Pack and it worked right away.

Hello bigbank,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

A codec pack installs system files that your movie playing and editing software will use to play movie files.  In itself, a codec pack will not aid in importing files.  You'll have to follow Movie Maker's instructions for importing for that.
