Hi.

I have the same problem.

Turning Sound off does NOT disable the startup sound! That's the first thing I tried...

Is there any other way of turning it off?

I'm tempted to open up and disconnect the speaker, that's how annoying this "feature" is ...

What were the designers thinking???

I apologize for the inconvenience, but I was not able to find a way to turn that off.  i have forwarded it to the designers so they can take a look as well and see if there is anything that can be done.  For now though, it is not possible to turn it off.
