I have a few pictures that I already rotated correctly on my computer. Even so, they display incorrectly on the digital frame (buildings and people on their side). When I rotate the pictures on the device, it is corrected only temporarily. As soon as that picture is displayed again, the rotation is incorrect. I tried to trick it by doing a small crop on the picture using my computer - to no avail. When I bring the picture back to the picture frame, the rotation is still incorrect.

My model number is NS-DPF10PR.
Just extra info - If I put the picture directly into Internal Memory instead of an SD disk, it comes across rotated incorrectly, but I'm able to fix it through the rotation feature. My intention is to switch out SD disks depending on what I want to view, so that's the real goal is to figure out how to fix the problem in an SD disk.
I appreciate any help you can give.

The rotation feature in our frame will only apply to the picture you are watching at that time, and will not change the information on the picture itself, so when selecting the picture again, the information read will be the original one. What you should do is to use a program that will change the metadata of the picture, so that form then onwards the information on the picture will be the correct position.

Thanks for the information, Gonza. I appreciate that. I do have a follow up question. Do you have a suggestion of a program that would change the metadata of the image? Since I used Microsoft Office Picture Manager to do the rotation, it obviously did not change the metadata. My awkward fix to this problem so far is to bring the correctly rotated picture into Paint, save as a bmp, then save the bmp back to a jpg.

I also have exactly this issue and experiences. Ditto I love this frame, but the problem is very aggravating. I also got the same answer from Insignia Tech Support.
I can understand why the frame can't update removable memory (would increase costs of onboard processing capability).
However, we all need a better workaround, including specific steps with popular software that can edit JPG files.

A little more detail on this solution.
Now you have an image that the frame will auto-rotate correctly.

This frame automatically rotates the images to portrait or landscape mode provided that the camera the photo was taken with had an orientation sensor to tag the images accordingly. So no need to rotate the image on your PC. Note also that once you edit an image on a computer, the camera's orientation information is removed and the frame will display the image exactly as you see it on the computer screen.
To your second question - Note that only images stored to internal memory will retain their rotation. This is because the frame will not write to your media card to protect it's data.

i just want to say that this quick and dirty way is the most amazing thing I have heard. I'm two seconds away from pulling my hair out because of a stupid photo frame I received for Christmas that just won't behave. This is the solution I was looking for! I am not computer savy but I am paint savy. This is perfect and totally works. Thank you sooooo friggin much!
