NS-DPF7G not working

My husband gave me this frame for Christmas and I tried to load photos on it last evening. My computer recognizes it as a memory drive and lists the pictures in it (376 of them) but the black screen says

 

PC connection established.

Remote is temporarily inoperative!

 

I removed the film that is supposed to activate the remote but none of its functions work-- it does not respond at all.

 

What can I do?

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

I presume that you have connected the photo frame to your computer via USB and are copying photos to the internal memory or an inserted USB flash drive.  Have you disconnected the frame from your computer, connected the power supply and tried turning it on?  Is the frame responsive from the buttons on the device itself?  I look forward to hearing from you with the results of these steps.

Hi John,

 

After muddling a bit, I got the frame to work, responding to the buttons on the top, but the remote really doesn't work at all. I've tried it up close and at about 12 feet away, and nothing happens. I wonder if the battery is no good, or the remote itself is defective?

Hello again Janice,

I'm happy to hear that you've got the frame up and running!  It's possible that the issue resides with the remote control.  My advice would be to contact Product Support at 1-877-467-4289.  They will most likely have some troubleshooting steps to try to isolate where the problem is, then provide a resolution (like shipping a replacement remote if needed).  I hope this helps.
