So ive had my camcorder almost a yr now, it worked perfect...no issues. After not using it for awile, it suddenly went dead and wouldnt charge. My old battery seems to have gone completely dead and wont charge at all. I got a new NP60 battery off ebay, but it will only get 2 blue bars then suddenly drain to red after 10 mins. Is this a hardware issue instead? I would go back to best buy, but they seem to have discontinued selling this item, so the worst i'll get is a refund. I spent additional $$ on a new battery and wall charger but no solution. The red light doesnt blink and just stays solid while plugged in.
Since the battery doesn't seem to be the issue and you're within one year from the date of purchase, I would recommend returning to Best Buy with your receipt to the Geek Squad counter to have the unit serviced. Service is available for discontinued models as well as current, so you should have no problems there (beyond the inconvenience of needing repairs, anyway).
