I have an Insignia camcorder NS-DV111080F that worked fine for the longest time, I recently went to turn it on and nothing, the battery is charged, but the green power light won't come on, when I connect it to my laptop, the green power light comes on, but nothing else, it has never gotten wet or been dropped, I got it for a Christmas present about 8 years ago and up until recently, it has always worked fine, could it just be that the battery is wor out and time for new one? I don't want to have to pay repairs that will cost more tht what my son paid for the camera, and that was about $250, 8 years ago.....Help Please???

Have you had any success with the USB connection or by connecting the AC adapter for the device? If the unit will not power on by any of these means, repairs may be required. Considering the age of this product, it is out of manufacturer warranty, so we would unable to assist with repairs on this device, should they be required.

Thanks for checking back. It appears you’ve gone through troubleshooting we would recommend to no avail. It’s possible your unit is no longer functional. As indicated by my colleague, you may need repairs out of pocket. Given how long you’ve had this unit, you should consider buying a new one instead.

Diagnosis is typically done at the service center. There will be a shipping fee which will be determined at time of drop-off.
