I hope someone from Insignia, or anyone for that matter, can help me. I have a camcorder 5mp hd model NS DCC5HB09 that will not work on a vista home premium 64 bit system, but it works better on a 32 bit system. I have installed the driver that came with the camera and have installed the driver from the insignia website. Windows movie maker and dvd maker will not accept the camera avi files on a 64 bit system. Does Insignia have a 64 bit driver?
The only software that will accept the avi file from the camera was a free one called DVD Flick but it is limited as to what it can do. If you try the windows programs it says codes are missing and or the file is not recognized or corrupted.

I am having the same problem. When I try to edit the avi files in Windows Movie Maker, it only plays the audio and no video. I can play the videos in Windows Media player, but we want to edit the movies. I downloaded the windows media encoder and it gives an error of missing codec. Is there a codec we can download in order to edit the avi files. Thanks!

Sorry Aron, I have not found a program that will completely edit a file from this camera. Insignia has been no help. Dvdflick will add titles but not clip time on your 64 bit machine. The software is free. Movie Maker and DVD maker will work on a 32 bit system but again it will not do time edits on a clip from this camcorder.
I will be trying adobe elements 7 next.
Meanwhile, I have purchased a real camcorder from Canon and it's on the way.

Hi lautry and aelston, welcome to the forums.
The so called drivers in the product page for the camcorder are actually codecs needed by Windows Media Player and Windows Movie Maker to work with the videos recorded with our camcorder.
Unfortunately these codecs have not been tested in a 64-bit environment; however we can recommend you to try the following software and see if it works for you:
Hope either of these work for you.

An additional option for the driver may be found here: ffdshow
Your system will require a restart after installing this option. Let me know if it works. Good luck.
