Insignia DPF7G Photo Display

My Digital photo frame used to show all the pictures on a usb drive. Recently it stopped working so I put my pictures on a sandisk and it was great. The other day it began only showing the first dozen images on it. I have done the factory reset, copied the pictures onto another disk, but it does the same thing. What else can I do?

Re: Insignia DPF7G Photo Display

Hello joannej,

Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!

When it plays the 12, does it repeat the same 12, or does it slideshow them and then stop?

If it repeats them, you might check and see if you have those 12 in the main folder, and then subfolders that have the adtl pictures. If that is the case, put the pictures you are wanting to display in the "Main" folder, and see if the Photo Frame will show them as well.

Re: Insignia DPF7G Photo Display

Hi Jon All the pictures are in the main folder. The ones that are displayed continue to shuffle through and it doesn't stop. Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Insignia DPF7G Photo Display

Hello joannej,

Thank you for responding!

Is it showing the first pictures in the list, or are they randomly scattered throughout the other files?
The only other think I can really suggest to check is to make sure that all the pictures are saved in the same .JPEG format that the 12 pictures that are showing are coded in.

Jon

Re: Insignia DPF7G Photo Display

HI Jon

Thank you for your assistance. The pictures being displayed are all in .jpg format and it used to show all of them. The device shows an assortment of the whole group, over and over without showing the remainder of the photos. It is not a new device as it was bought in 2010 and may just be getting old (like me).

I have transfered the pictures to another card and the same thing happens. One question I have is there a limit to what the insignia will display?

Again thank you for your help.

Warm Regards

Joanne

Re: Insignia DPF7G Photo Display

Hello joannej,

Thanks for the additional info.

There is not a stated limit, as it will vary depending on sizing, and formatting, but if I remember correct it will usually work with around 200-250.  With the fact that this seems to be a recent development, it is not something being controlled by a setting. Unfortunately, if that is the case, it sounds like it may be getting to a point of repair/replacement.

Jon
