Hello Alexb,
Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
The frame shows the pictures in the orientation in which they are saved. To get them to display in a different orientation you would have to save them differently.

I am having this issue, but my pictures are already rotated. When I put them on the frame, it is rotating them differently than they show on my computer. I have no idea how to fix, since they are upright on my computer but randomly change when putting the usb in the frame. Can you help?

Hello eream,
Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
The frame shows the picture in the orientation that they were originally saved. The metadate that is created when the picture is originally created is what picture frames read. To change how the picture is going to be oriented, you would need to edit this data. The reason it is showing differently on your computer is because they were rotated and saved in that program so that is the way that program is opening them. So that program has altered the photos but not the metadata.

So, what is the fix so that this device is actually useable? I can't seem to save rotated pictures I have on the USB. I have tried to use paint to rotate, but the device needs to be able to adjust the roatation metadata.
Do you offer a greeware tool to do this?
Maybe its time to return it and get a better one.

Hello torser,
Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
In order to show the picture in the correct orientation the metadata has to be changed. You will need photo editing software to do that; paint will not change that data. This issue is going to be the same across all frames.

So the frames are pretty much useless unless the oictures match the frame format. What editing software do you recomend?

Hello torser,
Welcome to Community@ Insignia™!
All frames are designed to show the pictures in the orientation in which they are saved. Photoshop or similar would work for editing your pictures to display properly. We would never be able to test all programs, hopefully other users can share their experience and which program worked for them.
