Dear John from Insignia support (MY BROKEN CAM..)

Dear John,

I just wanted to ask one simple question here..

It seems like quite a lot of people here are loyal buyers of Insignia gadgets - ie Insignia NS-DSC7B09 Camcorder. I am one of them.

This particular camcorder has a major design flow that has to do with the unit not being able to charge (thru USB or AC adapter) or the original battery going bad.

What i wanted to ask- why, to this day Insignia didn't accept the resposibility for this design flow and offer these owners a recall or a way to fix the problem on company's expense???

Why should we go out there and buy additional chargers and new batteries, and god knows what else to make this unit work like it should have been working in the first place???

Why is Insignia suport still playing around with meaningless hints on where WE can buy batteries for this unit??? You guys produced a gadget that's broken. How about you fix the problem, dont make us do it. It's simply not our fault.

Sincerely,

Re: Dear John from Insignia support

I just love your responses to this problem. Here is an example, one of many:

Hello nnet3,
Welcome to Community@Insignia™!
It's likely that you'll need to replace the battery.  You can purchase one (and other accessories) here and selecting Insignia™ as the manufacturer and providing the model number..  I hope this helps.

Regards,
John

Emmm.... you think?? How about you guys ship a free battery all these unsatisfied buyers with broken Insignia camcoders?? Why is it my problem all of a sudden??

Hello broken,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

You're right.  If your camera fails during the warranty period, it's our responsibility. You may always pursue service under the one-year factory warranty.  To obtain service, carry your product in to the retailer of purchase along with your original purchase receipt.

Regards,
John

Re: Dear John from Insignia support (MY BROKEN CAM..)

When a camcorder is being sold that turns out to be a 'lemon,' it should be either recalled or covered without any time limits on the warranty. It's shocking that Insignia still hasn't admitted to the fault and done something about this issue.

The company is doing a great job beating around the bush instead of dealing with this faulty camcorder. At the same time, they're opening up the doors for a class action lawsuit dealing with this battery issue like you guys are. And seems like there are plenty of unhappy customers willing to put their names on that list..

It was a big mistake buying one of your products. I assure you i won't do that again..
