Thanks for the response, John ... It had been almost a week, I thought my inquiry fell upon deaf ears ... I appreciate knowing you all read every message ... Any idea when we might see the alarm upgrade to enable 'silent' alrams that need no user intervention i.e. switch to night mode, shut off the unit, change channels, etc?

Thanks, Chris

Re: Alarm upgrades

Hello Chris,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

As I mentioned, this feature is being worked on but, unfortunately, I have no ETA for it.  Please stay tuned, so to speak.

Regards,
John

Re: Alarm upgrades

John,

By alarm upgrades, do you mean "timed events" ?

I am more interested in timed event, I have both the 8" and the 3.5" Infocast and I am dying for this feature. I want to be able to se an event to start playing a channel at say 6:00am and make the screen dark at 10:00am and then play a different channel at 6:00pm and go to dark at 11:00pm. This will ensure the device is not running all day automatically without having the need to put it in dark mode manually.

Also, I cannot play photos from my network share drive on my windows vista pc running media player.

These devices have a lot of potential if these kinks get fixed.

Thanks.

Re: Alarm upgrades

^ This is what i'm interested in as well.  Having to press Play on my selected channel more or less defeats the purpose of information at a glance.  I would completley agree with timers on channels, and dark mode timer adjust.  I'd also like to see the unit move to your "Default" channel if it's sitting idle for X time.
