3" LCD Display is upside down

I turned my Insignia camcorder on and noticed it was recording everything upside down.  It works fine if I'm pointing it at myself, but I can't see what I'm recording if I use it for anything else.  Am I missing something, or should the LCD Display be right side up when recording or taking pictures?

Hello weigs,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

I'll be happy to look into this concern if you'll please reply with your camcorder's model number.  Also, if you would provide a bit more detail:  How are you holding the camcorder when you're shooting a subject away from yourself versus pointing it at yourself?  When filming a subject, the LCD should reflect what you're seeing and be right side up.

Re: 3" LCD Display is upside down

I brought the camera back to Best Buy to show them the problem.  They said that was crazy and they've never seen anything like that before.  They let me exchange the camera for a new one, which has been working just fine so far.

Re: 3" LCD Display is upside down

I would imagine the position sensor had died or locked in the wrong state. Typically this flips the image depending on whether the screen is facing backwards or forwards.

Hello nicholencasey,

Welcome to Community@Insignia™!

The factory warranty on your camcorder is one year.  If your purchase was less than a year ago, I would recommend returning with the camcorder to the retailer of purchase and presenting it for service.
